The Serious Review is a magazine made by us—global branding and design agency Serious Studio®. In the same way we build brands for progress and with purpose, we have designed with much intention what you see in this website.
Vol. 001 of The Serious Review puts the focus on OUTLIERS—brands, people, places, and ideas that are changing the game and are challenging the status quo. But what makes this different from the others that claim the same?
This isn’t about being different for the sake of it. Seeing the fault in the default is about improving things to propel us forward.
This is also not about starting from scratch. Turning something ordinary into something extraordinary is not any less innovative than inventing something new.
This issue is about being able to take the road less traveled and doing so whilst being prepared for the risks and rewards that can possibly come with it.

Every editor and creative who worked on this issue had to step back and make sure that all the features, details, down to paper materials are vetted and much-debated to a certain standard that will make them relevant to you—or at least will surprise you in a good way.
